Referral!!!!

We just wanted to let everyone know that after starting this adoption process over a year ago, we are finally almost done! We have received a referral! That means that finally there is a specific child for us to adopt. It also means there is only about 2-3 months left in the process if all goes well. So here is a first look at T (name pending )! A little about her is that she is almost exactly a year younger than Kimball, she was abandoned so the birthday is estimated and we pretty much know nothing else about her background, but we do know that she is healthy! We are right now trying to get out there for our 1st of 2 visits. I'm sure we'll be writing again soon.

Yeah! Congratulations! I had no idea you guys were looking at adopting. That is wonderful! She will be lucky to have you just as you are lucky to have her. :-) It looks- sounds as though you guys are having a blast. :-)

Mike I know how hard that wait can be. ruby's adoption took about a year as well. Where is your little one from? She is so cute. i don't know how old Kimball is so how old will she be. Warning...getting them home is not always easy. And be ready for a girl! They are WAY different from boys. I think if you raise a girl from birth you can handle it better but when you drop a toddler girl into a family of boys it is HARD! They all want to touch her and play with her like they do with each other and she will hate it and cry and say they hurt her! get ready for it! Girls!!! How can we stand ourselves! But it is so much fun having a girl and I am so grateful we finally got the one we did! Good luck! I am so happy for you.

Wow! Congrats! Now you'll have to change the name of your blog! I'm glad you seem to be enjoying it over there. I sure miss it- and everyone there. I'm sure the ward has changed a lot since we've been there.
And personally, I love having girls. But they are a bit more dramatic than the boys.

Oooh, I love adoption updates. Congrats to you! She is absolutely stunning - and she's in Ethiopia, right? I'm so happy for you. I'd love to hear the extended version of her story someday (how you chose that country, ups & downs along the way). We'd love to do a foreign adoption someday, but have learned better than to say that we have things all planned out, so we'll see :) In the meantime I love collecting stories & info where I can!
